Parent Child Bond

This article stresses the importance of fostering appreciation, warmth, and connection resulting in a strong bond between parents and children.  It touches on the nature-nurture debate when the author highlights that parents really don't have much control over many factors of their children's lives... but what they can control is the quality of their relationship with them.  Because I'm an educator, I'm primarily focused on the nurture side of it... what can we do, what must we do to assist our kids in learning habits that will serve them for life... self care routines, organizational skills, problem solving examples, and conflict resolution opportunities, etc.  This article indicates that we have little influence in the areas stated in the article--it does not say parents have no influence over their kids so just have fun with them and enjoy the ride...
